Northeast of the city of Urgench in Uzbekistan is an area known as Elik-Kala, where fifty fortresses once stood. About 2500 years ago, the ancient state of Khorazm flourished in the delta of the Amu Darya River and was famous for its mighty fortifications. However, over time, the number of fortresses was reduced to about twenty. On this fascinating tour you will be able to visit the most prominent of the remaining fortresses, immersing yourself in the atmosphere of antiquity and experiencing the grandeur of bygone eras. Morning pick-up from your hotel.
Transfer to the ancient fortresses of Khorezm.
Visit to Ayaz Kala (3-2 c BC), after we drive to Kyzyl Kala (1-4c).
Lunch en-route of self-arrangement
Continue drive to Gaur Kala (4c BC) and Badai-Tugai Natural Reserve where you can see Bukharian Deers of the Uzbekistan Red Book and bank of the Amudarya River, one of the main source of fresh water in Central Asia.
