Thumbnail is one of the greatest and most famous works of art in the Uzbek people. The first boxes with lacquered painting found in Bukhara, dated XV century.

Unfortunately, by the middle of the XX century, many unique technologies have been forgotten, but in the 70s, Uzbek artists, creating a special studio, able to revive this art. It was a time-consuming process - it is not just a miniature art form it is a whole artistic and stylistic school, including a lacquered miniature wall thumbnail on the skin and tissue.

Modern masters continue the work of their ancestors - Kamolidinov Behzod and Mahmoud Muzahiba - unsurpassed master of miniatures of the middle ages.

It is fascinating to see how the master apply virtuoso a thin painting on the cover of manuscript books, tables made of precious wood, cupboards, chess boxes. Figure brushes applied over the ground, which is made of gold or bronze powder, apricot or cherry adhesive.

Plots for pictures is taken from folk art, often - from the works of the great Uzbek poet - Navoi, Jami, Furkat, Nizami, Khayyam.

Today, boxes, jars, paper mache and bears the paintings can be seen in the Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan. You can enjoy even more works of art if you visit other cities of Uzbekistan.
